If you could redesign anything, what would it be?
Almost every day I curse my phone. I call it a ‘dumbphone’. I would love to have Continuum redesign the whole idea of a smartphone. Neither Apple or Android delight me very often.

What’s your favorite invention of all time and why?
The MP3. I hate owning ‘stuff’ and lugging it around, and the ability to store crates of CDs on a hard drive allows me to not own that much more ‘stuff’.

What’s your favorite book?
Hard to pick, but let’s go with The Moon is a Harsh Mistress by Heinlein. Intelligent computers and insurrection.

The project turned out so well (she won the state Science Fair competition) that we got the work published.

Working on the world’s first disposable insulin pump. It changed the way Type 1 diabetics manage their disease and it gave people a chance to discretely deal with the life sustaining delivery of insulin.

From Bangkok to Hanover, NH (a big culture shock), then to Boston.

What’s your favorite project of all time?

My favorite project let me think about the interaction design for multiple touchpoints (from mobile to web to interactive table to POS system). I had to think about the consistency across the touchpoints, and at the same time understand user needs at each touchpoint and approached design differently.

Any hidden talents?

Kickboxing with loud music. Making fried ice-cream.
